Penelope
This piece was inspired by Homer's iliad, The Odyssey. The illustration depicts Odysseus's wife Penelope waiting for her husband to return from the Trojan War. For those of you that have forgotten, it takes Odysseus 10 years to make his way back home.
This is absolutely stunning! I teach The Odyssey in Classical Studies (Ancient History) in New Zealand and came across this amazing image and you other art works! Thanks so much for sharing! Fiona
